AIRROBO PG100 Review: A Groomer in a Box?

AIRROBO PG100 Review: A Groomer in a Box?

Welcome to WeLovePetz, your number one source for all things pets.

Deshedding a double-coated dog usually results in “tumbleweeds” of fur drifting across your living room floor. Traditional brushing removes the hair from the dog, but then you have to clean it off the brush, off your clothes, and off the carpet. It is a two-step process that often ends in a mess.

Vacuum grooming kits promise to solve this by sucking the fur straight from the brush into a canister. It sounds perfect, but the reality often involves loud motors that terrify pets or weak suction that clogs instantly. Today, I am reviewing the AIRROBO PG100 Dog Grooming Vacuum Kit. It boasts a powerful 12,000Pa suction and a “silent” mode. Is it powerful enough to handle a Husky, or is it just a glorified dustbuster?

Key Features and Specs

The AIRROBO PG100 enters a crowded market of pet vacuums. Here is what separates it from the generic competition:

  • 12,000Pa Suction Power: This is on the higher end for portable pet vacuums. Most competitors hover around 8,000-10,000Pa. This extra power is crucial for pulling dense undercoat through the hose without clogging.
  • 2-Liter Dust Cup: Capacity matters. A small cup means you are running to the trash can every 5 minutes during a shedding season blowout. 2L is generous enough for a full session on a medium-sized dog.
  • Low Noise Architecture (50dB): The motor is dampened to minimize high-pitched whining, which is usually what triggers anxiety in dogs.
  • 5-in-1 Tool Set: It includes a slicker brush (for shedding), an electric clipper (for haircuts), a nozzle (for cleaning furniture), a cleaning brush, and a thinning comb.
  • Flexible Hose (4.9ft): The hose is detachable and long enough to keep the motor unit slightly away from a nervous dog.

Hands-On Performance Analysis

I tested the PG100 on a Golden Retriever (long hair, heavy shedder) and a nervous Terrier mix to evaluate both power and noise levels.

The Noise Test

The “Eco” mode (lowest setting) is genuinely quiet. It hums rather than screams. My nervous test dog, who usually bolts at the sight of a Dyson, stayed put after a few minutes of desensitization. However, once you crank it up to the Max (12,000Pa) setting, the volume increases significantly. Ideally, you start on Low to get them comfortable, then switch to High for the heavy brushing.

Grooming Efficiency

The deshedding tool works well. The key mechanism is the “self-cleaning” button. You brush the dog, the bristles fill with fur, you press the button, and the vacuum sucks it all away instantly. No pulling hair out of bristles by hand. This feature alone cuts grooming time in half.

The electric clippers were surprisingly competent. They attach to the vacuum, so as you shave, the fur is sucked up. This prevents the “itchy aftermath” where loose hair sticks to the dog’s skin. However, for thick mats, you will still need professional scissors; these clippers are for maintenance trims, not shaving down a matted sheepdog.

Capacity and Maintenance

The 2L bin is easy to detach and empty. For the Golden Retriever, I emptied it once during a 20-minute session. The quick-release mechanism works well, dumping the fur without you having to touch it. The filters are washable, which is a must for keeping suction strong over time.

Pros & Cons

✅ The Good ❌ The Bad
Strong Suction: 12,000Pa handles dense fur without clogging the hose. Hose Length: While 4.9ft is decent, a 6ft hose would offer better reach for large dogs.
Mess-Free: 99% of hair goes into the bin, not on your clothes. Clipper Heat: Like all electric clippers, the head warms up after 15 minutes of continuous use.
Quiet Start: The lowest setting is approachable for fearful pets. Plastic Build: The attachments feel lightweight; durable, but not “heavy duty.”
Large Bin: 2L capacity minimizes interruptions.

Is the PG100 the best choice, or should you look at the famous alternatives?

Verdict

The AIRROBO PG100 is a highly practical solution for pet owners tired of the shedding mess. Its standout feature is the 12,000Pa suction combined with a 2L bin—specs that beat many of its more expensive competitors like the Neakasa P1 Pro (which often has a smaller bin).

It effectively turns grooming from a chore that requires a subsequent house cleaning into a self-contained task. While the electric clippers are best suited for trims rather than full show-dog styling, the deshedding tool is worth the price of admission alone.

Recommendation: If you have a Golden Retriever, Husky, or German Shepherd, this tool will pay for itself in saved groomer fees within two visits.
